DESCRIPTION:Tournament Description\n\n\n\nThe fourth annual The Capital Pickleball Classic brought to you by the Thurston County Pickleball Club (A registered 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to the enjoyment and growth of Pickleball in Thurston County\, WA)\n\nRegister: https://pickleballtournaments.com/tournaments/4th-annual-the-capital-pickleball-classic-by-pig\n\n6/27 Friday = Men’s & Women’s Singles\n6/28 Saturday = Men’s & Women’s Doubles\n6/29 Sunday = Mixed Doubles\n\nThis is a Skill/Age round-robin tournament for skills (3.0 to 4.5+) / age groups (under 50\, 50-59\, & 60+). TD may combine brackets as needed to ensure quality play.\n\nThere are 4 permanent pickleball courts and 16 temporary pickleball courts\n\nBracket Formats\n\n3 teams/players (only if necessary\, we will try to combine any 3 team/player divisions with the closest age division possible)\n– Double-RR\, games 1 to 15\n– Top 2 teams advanced to Gold Medal match\, – Gold – 2/3 to 11 optional (one game to 15 win by 2 is an option as well\, if the decision of which format to play is not unanimous then a coin toss will decide the format)\n– 3rd place team automatically receives Bronze medal\n\n4 team bracket\n– Single RR\, games 1 to 15\n– Semi-final (all 4 teams) – 1 to 15\n– Bronze – 1 to 15\n– Gold – 2/3 to 11 optional (one game to 15 win by 2 is an option as well\, if the decision of which format to play is not unanimous then a coin toss will decide the format)\n\n5-6 team bracket\n– Single-RR\, games 1 to 15\n– Semi-final (top 4 teams) – 1 to 15\n– Bronze – 1 to 15\n– Gold – 2/3 to 11 optional (one game to 15 win by 2 is an option as well\, if the decision of which format to play is not unanimous then a coin toss will decide the format)\n\n7 team brackets\n– Single-RR\, games 1 to 11\n– Semi-final (top 4 teams) – 1 to 15\n– Bronze – 1 to 15\n– Gold – 2/3 to 11 optional (one game to 15 win by 2 is an option as well\, if the decision of which format to play is not unanimous then a coin toss will decide the format)\n\n8-9 team bracket\n– 2 pools\, Single-RR\, games 1 to 15\n– Semi-final (top 2 teams from each pool) – 1 to 15\n– Bronze – 1 to 15\n– Gold – 2/3 to 11 optional (one game to 15 win by 2 is an option as well\, if the decision of which format to play is not unanimous then a coin toss will decide the format)\n\n10-12 team bracket\n– 2 pools\, Single-RR\, games 1 to 15\n– Semi-final (top 2 teams from each pool) – 1 to 15\n– Bronze – 1 to 15\n– Gold – 2/3 to 11 optional (one game to 15 win by 2 is an option as well\, if the decision of which format to play is not unanimous then a coin toss will decide the format)\n\n***Ratings:\n• Even though DUPR is the only rating listed for public view\, we are using DUPR only as a guideline. All rating systems have their pros and cons. Players will self-rate and we will also be using your previous tournament rating (PBR) as our determinant\n• Please update your self-rating in your software profile before you register\n• If you feel that a player is playing out of their skill\, please contact the tournament director. We will then evaluate tournament history and various ratings (including DUPR) to determine if a player/team needs to play at a different skill. Please be aware that this is a manual process and does not happen automatically\n\nIf you note a player playing lower than their skill rating\, please use the contact tourney button above to let the tournament director know.\n\n\n\n\n\nAdditional Information\n\n\n\nThis is a fundraiser tournament for the Thurston County Pickleball Club as a registered 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to the enjoyment and growth of Pickleball in Thurston County\, WA. Funds from this tournament will be used to expand courts\, facilities\, and access to Pickleball in the Lacey/Olympia area.\n\nPayment is required to register – Early registration $50 + $15/event through Mar 31. Standard registration $65 + $15/event through July 2. Beginning July 3\, late registration will be $75 + $15/event.
