2026 Seattle Metro Winter Classic Presented by UW Medicine

Tournament Description

Washington State’s premier outdoor tournament is moving indoors for the winter!
The Seattle Metro Classic has been a summer staple since 2018 and will be back in July, but we couldn’t wait! This tournament is brought to you by the same team that organizes the summer version and, like it’s older sibling, is sure to be an instant “Classic.”
FEES:
Registration / per player: $70 in November – $90 in December/January – $120 in February
Doubles Skill Event / per event: $15
Singles Skill Event / per event: $15
Open Event / per event: $ 40
REGISTRATION RULES (Applies to ALL events, Skill and Open)
Players can register for one gender event and one mixed event and one singles event (3 events total for the entire tournament)
Players must connect their DUPR account to their tournament profile and will use their DUPR rating when registering for the tournament – we will conduct audits through the registration period for changes
Partner not required at time of registration for any event. Any player that does not have a partner registered with 7 days of their initial registration will be moved to the waitlist
Payment is required at time of registration. Each player must register and pay for themself.
If a player needs to change their partner due to injury or unexpected circumstances, they can do so up to 7 days prior to the start of the tournament. Players should contact the tournament director for all partner changes
Waitlisted teams that are complete will be added to the active roster once space becomes available or if a division is expanded – it is all based on player interest
We reserve all rights to refuse service for any reason for any player.

Round Robin format followed by medal round for Gold / Silver / Bronze
Franklin X40 Ball – optic yellow
Skill Divisions: 3.0,3.5,4.0,4.5 (5.0 in singles as there is no open this year)
18U, 19-34, 35+, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Senior Open (AM) and Open (PM) Doubles Divisions with prize money (minimum rating requirements for open divisions)

OPEN DIVISION PLAY AND PAYOUT POLICY
 Prizes will only be awarded and distributed equally amongst Open events with prizes offered for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for all open events with a minimum of 8 teams.  If the open event has less than 8 teams, prizes will be prorated as follows:
 8 or more teams in an Open event – Round robin/Medal play format. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place at 100%.
 6-7 teams in an Open event – Round robin/Medal play format. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at 75%.
 4 – 5 teams in an Open event - Will be either of the following formats (decided by tournament director):
o Round Robin Format within their age division with prizes awarded at 60%.
o Combined with the other Open event age group. (ie. Combine 50+ and 19+) Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams at 100%, so long as the combined divisions have at least 8 teams.
 Less than 4 teams – Will be combined with the other Open event age group.  (ie. Combine 50+ and 19+).
o If the combined divisions have at least 8 teams, the format will be round robin/medal play with prizes awarded to the top 3 teams at 100%.
o If the combined division is only 6-7 total teams, prizes will be prorated to 75% with round robin/medal play.
o If the combined division is only 4-5 total teams, prizes will be prorated to 60% with round robin/medal play format.

Refund Policy

$20 Admin fee minimum for all withdrawals
REFUND DEADLINE – January 15tht – Deadline to receive a refund for
registration or event fees is January 15th.
No refunds will be given after February 1st, unless your event is combined with
another age/skill group or cancelled. In this case, the tournament director will
contact you to notify you of changes and you will have the opportunity to request
a refund or stay in your division.
CANCELATION POLICY
If any event is cancelled for any reason, there will be up to a 50% refund.
